Built shortly after the Cardassian occupation of Bajor and used for further exapansions after that date. While this ship was adequate for invading races who had no space going military assets, it proved to be a poor match in combat for the Excelsior-class, the Federation ship of the line in this period.

With only one torpedo, this ship is a liability in Cardassian fleets in the modern era, and most of these hulls have been relegated to colony defence fleets and training crews. However due to the relative newness of the Galor hull during the conflict with the Federation, the Cardassians deployed many of these hulls in skirmishes with Federation forces, and to fill the role of patrol ship and defending the Cardassian colonies from possible Federation raiding forces.

Obsolete in the modern era, these ships are rarely seen on the battle lines.
