M'Peh Military Transport
Description:

The M'Peh Military Transport is a heavy refit of the older B'Kos Light Freighter that was in service before that time. The M'Peh is a heavily armored transport able to shrug off most light weapons blasts, but because of its lack of super-structure it is very susceptible to heavy weapons (especially missiles). The K'Thonn Hierarchy tried to build enough M'Pehs to have at least one to travel between each of their colonies in their home system.

Many M'Peh transports were destroyed or captured by all sides during the K'Thonn Rebellion, but their numbers were not appreciably diminished by that conflict. During the rebellion, several M'Peh were sold to other indpendent parties by the rebels in order to raise funds to fund their war effort. Several M'Peh transports were sold to the Kylon government by the rebel faction in return for supplies. This selling off of M'Peh hulls continued for several years, especially during the economic depression directly following the establishment of the civilian government on the K'Thonn homeworld.

Design Notes:

The irony of the entire K'Thonn/Kylon M'Peh affair is that the Kylon would later improve upon the K'Thonn tech found on those hulls and eventually sell it back to the K'Thonn -- at a healthy profit no less.
