The Consular Cruiser of the Old Republic was a common site, running diplomatic missions between the various worlds of the Republic. Designed more for the protection and comfort of its ambassadorial staffs, the Consular Cruiser was not a particluarly powerful combatant. Indeed, most early versions of the ship were unarmed, relaying on the traditional red hull paint that indicated diplomatic protection and the reputation of the benficent Old Republic itself to ensure the safety of its passengers. This version however has been modified with some defensive capacity.
