Description:

A common sight across the galaxy, the Diamond Transport Cruiser was another merchant vessel drafted into a more battle worthy craft at the start of the Clone Wars. Often used to carry the Commerce Guilds Homing Spider Droids and Dwarf Spider Droids into hotspots, the Cruiser was previously used more to transport employees and dignataries and even customers through its vast territories, especially in the mining regions.

The Diamond's weapon array is suspect in any large scale engagement, comprised of short range Dual Laser Cannons and even shorter range point defense batteries. The ship is maneuverable however, and can often out turn larger ships attempting to engage it.

Design Notes:

These ships were present at the Battle of Geonosis, however did not take direct part in the conflict. The Commerce Guild President Shu Mai ordered a general withdrawal, caught unprepared by the surprise attack of the Republic and Jedi.
