The Escort Barge is a ubiquitious convoy escort throughout the Imperium. Originally developed in this form by House Ecaz to escort its Commercial Frigates, the Escort Barge combines light anti-fighter weaponry with birthings for nine fighters in its moderate hangar. A cheap but efficent ship, the Escort Barge fills its dedicated role at better than expected cost effectiveness.
