As the march to war became more apparent, the Techno Union saw an opportunity caused by some small pirate bands on the Outer Rim to increase the armament of their vessels. Originally intended to simply warn off pirates and hutt privateers, the Escort would later find itself the center of many a swirling firefight between Separtist droid fighters and Republic starfighters.
