The original Star Destoyer, the Victory class focused on planetary bombardment and durability, at the expense of sublight speed. Carrying a small fighter contigent for the time of 24 starfighters, the Victory was capable of atmospheric operations and could be absolutely brutal in orbital bombardments of worlds, able to increase their accuracy several fold while opeating in the stratosphere. While not the equal of the Venator in its role as a carrier, the Victory showed its worth in innumerable conflicts in the Clone Wars. And withs its amazing endurance and hearty construction, unlike many of the vessels of this era it survived well into the next, forming the core of the Imperial Remnant nearly five decades after its entrance as a combatant against the CIS.
