Description: |
The E’chekri were dismayed at the discovery of further sentient life upspin of their territories. The E’chekri had worked long and hard to eradicate the aliens that they had already contacted and did not look forward to cleansing more worlds of the infestations. Unlike the Lotannans, Hrokkath, and Wulosti, it appeared that these newly discovered aliens had a much higher level of technology and had already made contact with other sentient species.
The E’chekri needed more information on the territories that they would soon cleanse of all life. To this end their engineers began building a revolutionary new probing cruiser designed to ride the beacon trails, shadowing and later harvesting unsuspecting alien craft. The wreckage and survivors would then provide the E’chekri with the information they needed to carry out their grand endeavor.
The En’chel Probing Cruiser was at the time the smallest E’chekri vessel to mount a jump engine. The E’chekri knew that their new probing cruisers would likely find themselves in combat with unknown alien craft and designed the ship accordingly. The En’chel’s reinforced superstructure and railgun-heavy arsenal gave it the durability and firepower necessary to hold its own in combat.
En’chel Probing Cruisers were built in limited numbers and used to probe the borders of the E’chekri Empire, seeking both new and old beacon routes alike that would lead them deeper into enemy territory. Once there the ships gathered vital information on the strength and disposition of several neighboring races. This information would later prove invaluable when the E’chekri began their great invasion.
