A replacement hull to the Yusan Patrol Frigate, the Alinia was designed to be smaller, more comfortable, and more versatile. The scope of the patrol frigate role had shifted since the time of the Yusan and the Alinia was adapted for the new environment. Small, cheap, and easy to build, the Alinia was an economic craft for use in defending against the occasional raider attack.
