New Orleans Battlecruiser
Description:

A dedicated warship, the New Orleans Battlecruiser is one of the most deadly starships the Federation has at its disposal. Built around three hard mounted photon torpedo tubes, the New Orleans can deliver up to nine photon torpedoes in its opening salvo. Designed with support of existing ships such as the Excelsior and Galaxy in mind, the New Orleans makes an excellent heavy weapons support platform in larger fleet engagements.

Design Notes:

This ship is just nasty, and accordingly has been given a Limited Availability (33%) designation to keep the levels of these
monsters low in pickup games. Based off of the wreckage of the Kyushu from
Best of Both Worlds, it is the general consensus that those things are indeed photon
torpedo tubes... This is the Federation's Dag'kar, and I think that any ship that is unlucky
enough to get targetted by this ship (especially should the ship have elected for the Quantum Torpedo upgrade) is going to die a
very horrible death. It is also nice to note that it is this ship that lead me to institute firing
penalties on the advanced photon torpedoes for multi-firing torpedoes.
