The Ilixtoxi are one of the "Mid Born" races of the Escalation Wars universe. Their interstellar culsture was about 100,000 years old by the "modern" period (Chouka War era).
The Ilixtoxi voluntarily shed their corporeal forms and are now something different. They seem to exist as pure energy, yet can interact with space and time in a way that defies rational explanation and physical laws. Several billion Ilixtoxi opted not to undergo the Metamorphosis, but they have long-since become extinct.
The Ilixtoxi once lived in known space but have since migrated from the region, looking for new sites. They returned during the Ussen War, joining the Anticians and their allies against the hydrogren-life menace.
The Ilixtoxi have no military. Those that exist continue to do so because they wish. Groups of like-minded Ilixtoxi often come together and manifest themselves as starships, great lightning enshrouded balls of fire, traveling the stars in search of greater knowledge and entertainment.
