A species of felinoid imperialists located on the coreward edge of known space. The Courata resemble a cross between a large cat and a giant sloth. The Courata head is extremely boxy in shape.
The Courata Imperium is ruled by a disparate group of competing royal houses. At the apex of power within the Imperium is the reigning God Emperor whose word is considered final on all decisions. To betray the empire is to commit suicide.
The Courata are aggressive and not adverse to violence, but they prefer coersion and political intrigue for their conquests. The Courata Imperium has never "conquered" an enemy, but they have succeeded in making several less developed worlds economically dependent on the Imperium.
